Ammonia water is an important reagent in laboratories, mainly used as an analytical reagent, neutralizing agent, alkaloid leaching agent, aluminum salt synthesis, and weakly alkaline solvent.

Laboratory use
Ammonia water is an important reagent in laboratories, mainly used as an analytical reagent, neutralizing agent, alkaloid leaching agent, aluminum salt synthesis, and weakly alkaline solvent. Used for the synthesis of aluminum salts and the detection and determination of certain elements (such as copper and nickel), used to precipitate hydroxides of various elements.
Military use
As an alkaline disinfectant, it is used to disinfect sarin type toxic agents. The commonly used concentration is 10% dilute ammonia water (density 0.960), while the concentration used in winter is 20%.
Industrial use
Woolen, silk, printing and dyeing industries are used to wash wool, woolen fabric, and greige fabric, dissolve and adjust acidity and alkalinity, and serve as dyeing aids. Organic industry is used as an aminating agent and a catalyst for producing thermosetting phenolic resins, while inorganic industry is used to prepare various iron salts. Used in industry for large-scale integrated circuit pressure reduction or plasma CVD, to grow silicon dioxide film as a pH regulator for boiler feedwater. Ammonia is used to neutralize carbonic acid in the feedwater, increase the pH value, and slow down the corrosion of carbon dioxide in the feedwater. It is also a boiler shutdown protection agent, which has a good protective effect on boilers with a small amount of stored water that cannot be released.
Agricultural use
Diluted in agriculture can be used as fertilizer
The ammonia concentration of agricultural ammonia water is generally controlled within the range of 15% to 18% nitrogen content, with a carbonization degree greater than 100%. Fertilization is simple and there are many methods, such as ditch application, surface application, application with irrigation water or spray application. When using, it should be diluted with water to less than one thousandth, and avoid contact with stems and leaves to prevent burns.
The principle of using ammonia water is "not leaving the soil, not leaving the water". Not leaving the soil means deeply covering it with soil; Not leaving water means diluting with water to reduce concentration, decrease volatilization, or applying it in combination with irrigation. Due to the lower density of ammonia water compared to water, attention should be paid to avoiding excessive accumulation in local areas during irrigation, which may burn the plants. Ammonia water can be used as base fertilizer or topdressing.
The commonly used concentrations of agricultural ammonia water in China are 15%, 17%, and 20% ammonia. In foreign countries, the concentration of agricultural ammonia water is slightly higher, generally for products containing 25% ammonia (20% nitrogen). In 2008, the production of ammonia water in China was less than 0.2% of the total nitrogen fertilizer production.
Ammonia water, also known as ammonia water, is mainly composed of NH3 · H2O. It is an aqueous solution of ammonia, colorless, transparent, and has a pungent odor. Melting point -77 ℃, boiling point 36 ℃, density 0.91g/cm ^ 3. Easy to dissolve in water and ethanol. Easy to evaporate, with partial alkaline permeability, produced by introducing ammonia gas into water. Toxic, irritating and corrosive to eyes, nose, and skin, can cause suffocation, with a high allowable concentration of 30mg/m ^ 3 in the air. Mainly used as fertilizer.
